We have been waiting for this wedding for a long time. We shot Vimala and Daniel's engagement party an extremely long time ago and they also had a ceremony in India prior to this one. All the waiting really built up expectations and they didn’t disappoint! It was a super fun night with lots of awesome people.

Karmon and Lee are an awesome couple, whose wedding can't get here soon eough. I really enjoy it when clients are up for anything and laid back. This session was really more like hanging out than anything else. Karmon had this red dress and almost didn't change into it.... glad ya did Karmon, we got some great stuff! ;)

What happens when you add a city girl to a country boy's life? You end up with a great couple like Jac Lynn + Buddy. Jac Lynn called us right before the shoot and told us, "bring your boots because it is muddy, but we are going to embrace the weather". It is so wonderful to have clients that don't stress over the small stuff. Thanks for being troopers!

Vimala + Daniel gave us lots of personality on this shoot. Until the wedding these guys are making a long distance relationship work. That was definitely in our favor, because they were so excited to spend time together.
Can you guess what the back ground is for the last four images? Who knew different colored elevators would make such great back drops!

We generally like to have an in person consultation (or phone conversation) prior to shooting couples. We really feel strongly that one of the biggest factors in choosing your photographer is how well you "click" and how well your personalities mesh. Seeing as Michelle was neck deep in her 3rd year of law school and will be taking the bar the week before the wedding she wanted to get everything together ASAP. They came to us on referral from Shanna Lumpkin, who has been great about referring clients that really get us and our style. So we broke our rule on consolation first and took Shanna's recommendation. She was dead on, fun couple with a trendy mindset.

Jessie and Cory had a golf themed wedding at Le Triomphe in Lafayette. During our initial conversations they expressed a desire to just have a lot of fun and for everyone involved to have a good time. I really think they succeeded. They had a great bunch of friends with some pretty cool dance moves.

This blog post went a little overboard ;).
Jeremy and Rachael, are clients we connected with on more of a personal level from the start. They are both really creative, quirky, and have a very obvious love for one another. I really enjoy day's like this...shooting weddings is very much an adventure each time and these guys made it so easy. They allowed thier personalities to show through by simply being themselves which makes the ride all the sweeter.

It is always exciting to get to be a part of different cultures. Haritha and Peter's Engagement Party was one of those occassions. We will be shooting their wedding, so check back for more on this festive couple.

You may remember Cori and Mark from there fan-freakin-tastic engagement session last year. Being the uber amazing green geek she is Cori, decided to do an "eco-friendly" wedding. She opted to stay local, use bio degradable, and generally take a crafty approach to everything. Oh and there was a smart car. While it actually had ample leg room it simply was not big enough to contain Cori and Mark's personalities.
Word of wisdom to future clients: you can throw money at a wedding and see what sticks OR do what these guys did and poor your heart and soul into a wedding. The latter ALWAYS makes for better pictures and a more memorable day.

This gorgeous couple came to us on referral from the amazing Shanna Lumpkin. She never fails to refer couples that we click with. Cary + Justin were mucho fun. These guys also get major cool points for completely covering each other with silly string. Can't wait for the wedding!

We clicked with Jeremy and Rachael from the second we met them. Aside from having a lot of things in common, they are just fun, creative, and quirky. I recently had another aspiring photographer ask me how we make our subjects personality come out in an image...to be honest I can't take credit for it. Shoots like these happen when you have an amazing couple and a great rapport without the camera.
Jeremy and Rachael will be getting married next month and doing something I think is just amazing and original during their wedding ceremony. So original in fact we have a videographer that will be interviewing the couple and filming the event. Without giving away to many details, they have found a way to incorporate a hobby of theirs into the ceremony. Something that I think really showcases how insanely creative and original this couple is.

You may recognise Lindsay and Jackson from their actual proposal images. They make look super cool, but they have a dark secret... these two characters are actually Yankees! They wanted to do a quick session the day before they moved back up north just to capture their time here. What better way to do that than have them eat some Mississippi watermelons!
